Special Services

Special Services

Designed to meet the needs of people with physical or other disabilities who have a desire to gain greater independence, our Special Services program meets the long and short-term rehabilitation goals of each individual we serve.

Therapies such as occupational, physical and speech are available with physician authorization. We focus on preventative maintenance programs, cognitive skills, vocational skills, planning exercises, social interaction and community involvement.

Individuals in this program set their own schedules and are encouraged to reach their self-established goals. Each person is also encouraged to reach their maximum potential by re-learning previous life skills such as washing dishes, cleaning laundry and learning new techniques to help them effectively manage their lives.

How many therapies can a person receive?

Each person may have up to three thirty minute therapy sessions per week. Daily range of motion exercises are also offered to all clients.

Are community trips part of the program?

Yes! Everyone is offered opportunities to be out and about in the community throughout the month. In fact, trips are taken four to five times per week in small groups or on a one-to-one basis. Outings are planned with everyone’s input and are based on choices made by individuals.
